WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1972 by Nina Glick and Cynthia Clare, Professional Buying Services (PBS) was among the very first companies to provide procurement services to communities in Canada’s Northern Territories. More recently, President and CEO Anne Marie Turturici and Vice-President of Operations and Logistics Karla Roldan have expanded the firm’s offerings to ensure that PBS remains a leading supplier to various businesses, retailers, government institutions, mining companies, hotels and housing projects in the High Arctic.

WHO WE ARE

PBS acts as an in-house sales representative that, unlike distributors, deals directly with manufacturers and importers, resulting in cost savings for clients. What’s more, PBS does not charge any administrative fees to its customers.

For over 45 years, PBS has served as a satellite office for its many clients and has fostered a tradition of trust by providing dedicated, comprehensive customer services that include purchasing, packaging, transportation and operational logistics expertise. Given the high cost of air transportation to communities, PBS focuses primarily on moving heavy goods by ship from May to September, consolidating orders on Sealift Services, and overseeing all required paperwork so that clients’ shipments don’t miss the boat!

Strong community support

PBS is an active member of the Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce and takes part in numerous sponsorship initiatives, such as donations to various educational institutions and community organizations in the North.
